Garlic chives

Other names: ku chai, chinese chives

An herb similar to chives but with thin flat leaves and a strong garlic flavor. The flowers are purple and look almost the same as common chive flowers.  Garlic chives are sometimes sold with the buds on the ends before the flowers open.  Look for these chives in Asian markets.
