Chipotle chile

Other names: chipotle meco (brown)

Chipotles chilies [chee-POT-tleh] peppers are smoked jalapeno chili peppers and are also known as chili ahumado. These chilies are usually a dull tan to coffee color and measure approximately 2 to 4 inches in length and about an inch wide. As much as one fifth of the Mexican jalapeno crop is processed into chipotles.

Substitute for chipotle chile

Chipotle morita, Pasilla de Oaxaca, equal qantities of chipotle in adobo sauce plus 1 teaspoon sauce per chile

Equivalents

2 rehydrated   =   2 chipotles in adobo + 2 teaspoons sauce
1/2 to 1 teaspoon powder = 1 whole dried reconstituted
5 dried rehydrated chipotles = 2 teaspoons powder or 2 chipotles in adobo.

UCSF Researchers say products with added sugar should be controlled just like alcohol or tobacco. They are  advocating that the government take control of the situation because the citizens are unable to do so. The solutions they suggest include doubling the price of sodas via a sugar tax, put age restrictions on purchase of products containing added sugar and legislate which stores are allowed to sell products with added sugar.
