Charoli

Other names: chironji, buchanania latifolia

A small seed, eaten like a nut.  The charoli looks like a little lentil but has the texture of a pine nut and the flavor that is similar to a hazelnut.  Charoli are used in Indian cooking for desserts and savor dishes as well.   The seeds are expensive so they are not typically eaten as a snack.
