Bergamot

Other names: orange mint

Bergamot, Monarda didyma, an aromatic perennial native to eastern Northern America. Both the leaves and red flower petals are used to flavor teas, wine or added to salads, pastas and vinaigrettes. The leaves have an orange aroma which is why the herb is named after the bergamot orange.
