Description

The long-awaited Smoky Market has finally opened This is a little franchise operation just a couple of doors from Nick's On Main.  The restaurant specializes in smoke-baked fish and meats.  You can eat in the restaurant or take food to go.  They also have some limited catering service.  Dishes include baby back ribs, smoke salmon fillet, Idaho trout fillet, beef, pork and chicken.  Additionally, select from traditional sides like beans, slaw, baked regular or sweet potato fries.

We picked up food for game day.  We bought 2 "meat only" orders of pork ribs and 2 sides of baked sweet potatoes and 2 cole slaw.  Our sauce of choice was the standard BBQ.   Each order of ribs was 6 and we split the food between 3 people.  Not being huge eaters that was ample meat for 3 and we even had 3 ribs left over.  The sides were small for $3.00 each.  While I had high hopes for the baked sweet potato fries they were limp and pretty unappealing.  Maybe they are better eaten in the restaurant rather than take-out. We even got a follow-up call later in the day from the owner asking what we thought.  Nice touch! I say given them a try!  They are new in town and just evolving their product.
