How To Use The Vietnamese Coffee Filter

The Vietnamese coffee filter (also called a Vietnamese coffee maker) is used to filter strong coffee into a cup.   Sweetened condensed milk is added to make sweet coffee drink served hot or iced.

Coffee Making Procedure

  1. Sit the filter on top of a glass (for iced coffee) or a mug (for hot coffee).
  2. Remove the filter lid the turn the center post counter clockwise and remove the screen. Add 3 to 4 teaspoons of Vietnamese or other espresso ground coffee.
  3. Replace the screen and tighten the screw moderately. Pour in a little boiling water to fill about 1/4 of the coffee filter. Wait for about 20 to 30 seconds. Undo the screw at least two turns.
  4. Refill with boiling water and replace the lid. The coffee is ready when it has stopped dripping.
